SpeakCuba’s progression thread thing

Sad. Got a 6.42 full step DNF. Would have been PB, as it's my first sub-7. 6.42 is closer to sub-6 than it is to sub-7, which is a cool nugget of information. Honestly, I am not sure how the DNF happened. I am sure I did all the correct moves for the Aa perm at the end, yet when I stopped the timer, the cube was 2 moves away from being solved. My best guess is that the cube was not perfectly aligned when it hit the table, and that's when those extra moves occurred. I encourage anyone to try out the scramble and see what they get, as this is a very good scramble. Happy to have broken the sub-7 single barrier though.

That's a shame, but you'll get it soon! I once got a 9.29 DNF that would have been my first sub 10, but a week later got a sub 10 anyway.

Nearly got it.

U L2 D2 B2 D2 F U2 L2 F' U2 B D2 R2 U R B R2 B2 U' B2 (7.06 single, PB2). I had 2 free pairs and then an OLL skip into an already-aligned F-Perm. Very slight hesitation before F-Perm from nerves and very small lockup while doing AUF cost me a sub-7, but I am still quite happy with this solve.

5 mover on both blue and green, even though at first glance it looks like an ok, maybe even bad scramble. Both green and blue have the same solution, which I found interesting.

The 1.03 gave me a PB Mo3 and Ao12:

Super happy; I didn't think it would be possible anytime soon, but either way, I am really happy with this. Along with the PB Ao100, I got a PB Mo3, Ao5, and Ao12!

Thanks! What do you mean by consistent?
Well your PB ao5 is 1.71, and ao100 is 1.99. For me, my PB ao5 is 2.05- almost as fast as you- but PB ao100 is 3.51, waaay slower. Basically you get similar times on all your solves, which I've also seen on your 3x3 times. For some aspects, it means you solve well, although you should work on taking advantage of lucky scrambles.

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, that makes sense. I personally like being consistent, so I strive for that.

True, I can't seem to get a 'good' PB all that often, nerves or bad last later usually stop me from taking advantage of lucky scrambles.

I need to update this thread; but I just got a 4x4 LL Skip! That's my first LL skip since I started cubing. Sadly not a PB, but it was a decent time.
I could tell that I could perhaps get a LL skip, but am still a bit shocked I did.

Well, it has been quite a long time since I last updated this. Here are my current stats:

2x2:
PB: 1.79 Ao100
Current: 1.82 Ao100
Single: Hasn't changed.
PB Ao5: 1.42
Current Ao5: 1.98
PB Ao12: 1.66
Current Ao12: 1.86

4x4: Current Ao100 is 56.59, PB is 56.33. I have not practice much so this has not changed much, but I am trying to improve currently.

SQ-1:
PB Ao100: 21.46
Current Ao100: 21.62

Skewb: PB / Current
