Cubing Scouts

Okay, I am like 100% convinced that there is a positive correlation between scouting and cubing.
I'm a scout! I've been in BSA for about 3 years now(I joined cubs as a bear so 6 really) and am 1 requirement away from First Class currently. I've got a big summer camp in about a week so that'll be fun. Cool to see other scouting cubers, I've also noticed that there seems to be a lot of us.

I was in boy scouts from October 2022 to January 2024. I enjoyed most of it, but there were one or two kids there who were pieces of crap and I had some awful camping experiences.

My first camping trip was hell. I hiked four miles up a mountain, and some idiot decided that it would be a good idea to bring build your own burritos to the windiest campsite ever, so I had an incredibly meager meal. Then, I got hit in the face by a tent pole consistently through the night because it was so windy, and the morning was extremely cold. I'm still alive, so it can't be that bad.

Another disaster was when it rained one night, and my father INSISTED that I used our old tent instead of our new pop-up. The waterproofing had gone years ago, so none of us slept that night. We went into a tent in the evening and came out in a lake. I was already incredibly irritated by the other scouts giving me crap and being jerks, so the tent was the last straw. I quit nearly immediately after.

Good experience for other people. Not for me.
