learning oh for my comp in 18 days, this is my first average
Some tips and knowlege to get good at OH.

1. If you use CFOP, your times will be somewhere near twice as long, so there is somewhat of a limit of how fast you can get without working on 3x3 solving (For reference, I average about 12 on 3x3 and 24.5 on OH)
2. Getting good with finger tricks is so essential. Plan on doing a lot of R-U Gen solving to get familiar with R and U moves.
3. You do not need to learn specialized algorithms to get good at OH at your point.
4. Work on turning. Literally the biggest tip. Can get you to sub 20 with work.
5. You can rotate more to make and Cross And F2L easier. To add onto this, working on cross fingertrick-ability is very good.

Do you have any tips for people using their right hand? I got used to right handed solving so should I still try to switch? (For reference I average 16.5 on 3x3 and 42 on OH. I don't really care much about OH, but would like to be a little faster.)

I do OH righty averaging about 25 seconds to get sub-30 I just did a whole bunch of solves Idk about how to get much faster

I am a right-handed OH solver and i average sub-24. I think PLL is where u must improve after learning fingertricks and getting better at F2L. U need not learn specialized algs for pll, but just practice ur LL layer algs a lot.

Basically everything I said, except practice L-U Gen instead of RU Gen

I use 2 look OLL,so the best I could find on my own was 36 moves altogether. The standard alg for the case was 10 moves, but didn't lead to any good PLLs, mostly G perm. Did you also find the 12 move F2L?
Yes I found the F2L. I think something more fancy can be done with pseudo F2L though.

Correct me if I am wrong.

I don't think you can get much better than 12 moves...
I did-
1. Make the 2x2x3 block by inserting the yellow-orange(I think) edge with a wide move(yellow-red(I think) cross edge already inserted) and then connect it to the premade 1x2x3 with 1 move.
2. Before inserting the last cross edge, there is a 1 move F2L pair(yellow-blue-orange I think). Pair that and connect it to the cross edge to make a 2x2x1. Bring this down and you have a triple x-cross.
3. The last F2L pair is a 4 move free pair.

Excluding rotations, I counted 12 moves. You could say it is a CFOP solution but I would classify it as FreeFop.

Edit: What's pseudo F2L?

Pseudo F2L is when you complete F2L with a D move offset.
