its ok, no worries, i explained why doing that for weekly isnt a good idea:

i do agree, its a fun concept but wouldn't get alot of competitors (IMO)
but it is a fun ideaa and i dont mind keeping up on it weekly if people do it
out of about the 9 people that joined the comp, 3 submitted times so it wouldnt be that big

These are the current votecounts for the nominated events, only taking those events into account that have been nominated more than once. I tried my best to accurately distinguish what counts as a vote and what doesn't, and I saw someone who nominated an event twice, so I ignored the second nomination. I don't think there were other such occurences.

Real Man's ao5: 15 votes
Corner Helicopter 2x2: 13 votes
4x4 OH: 4 votes
Gigaminx: 3 votes
2x2 OH: 2 votes
Side event relay: 2 votes
PLL time attack: 2 votes

The only events I see possibly getting to 30 votes are the Real Man's ao5 and the Corner Helicopter 2x2.

An additional note: I think it should be explicitly stated whether or not you are allowed to nominate multiple events. I suppose it is allowed, as many did that already and nobody objected, but I also saw a bunch of people liking a lot of posts that nominate a certain event, without nominating that event themselves. They had already nominated another event themselves, so I would guess they think at most one vote per person is allowed.

Actually, I tried to show that multiple nominations are allowed by quoting an example earlier in the thread and stating that it counted as a nomination for 3 events. Multiple nominations are allowed. I will edit the original post to say so more clearly.

It's interesting that a lot of the people who voted for corner helicopter 2x2 have only 1 message on the forums with that being their nomination.

I nominate Corner Helicopter 2x2. I ordered one the other day and it hasn't arrived yet but it looks very cool and it's got a solid community of speedsolvers already. I definitely intend to try speedsolving it once I get it and would certainly compete in it in the weekly comp!

Perhaps once the voting thread is opened, you could provide a link via a banner at the top of the main competition page? Unless there’s something in the way the site is set up that would make that difficult.

Something like a 5-7 + mega would be kinda cool, a strictly big cube relay.
