I have both, and generally I prefer the MGC 5

Both are good cubes, but the Dayan is quite kighty, aa in Too Light...

it literally takes a bit more focus and muscle action to move the layers versus the MGC5 because the pieces of the Dayan are sooo light

The Dayan Standard has *really* light magnets which makes the puzzle fairly unstable, and the way Dayan did the slots inside the pieces makes it hard to stack any magnets bigger than 2mm width into the pieces... so anyone who decides to get the Dayan should def get the Strong version imo

...also Dayan used lighter brighter red and orange which (at least for me) can mess up lookqhead and recognition...

I do still get what are, for me, good times on the Nezha, but similar reaults on the MGC 5 dont seem to involve quite as much effort

To me the MGC is the clear winner between the two, esp at ~$15 cheaper

MoYu all the way if that’s in your price range right now. I own all three—that one’s easily the best, and certainly worth the price in my opinion. MoYu cubes are VERY durable too and from my experience, struggle to break after being continuously dropped on hard floors (mostly by my friends who don’t cube). MGC always pops and DaYan is good, but lockups are common.

The nezha has reverse corner cutting problems and the caps fall off of the center pieces very often. I would not recommend it. The light weight and turning feel is awesome, but it can be a very frustrating cube to use when the caps fall off midsolve.

To get good use from the nezha you need a light accurate turning style.

I forgot about how annoying the caps were, haha. They're very frustrating to put back in.

You've got me fairly convinced that the MGC is better, but because the NeZha is only $25 at the moment, I might get it to try out. Plus, I plan on attending my first comp in a few months, and I don't have a backup 5x5.

I'm guessing that you're referring to the AoChuang WR M? It sounds pretty nice, the pops are the only thing I don't like about the MGC. It is a bit out of my price range, but 5x5 is my favorite event, so it might be worthwhile spending a bit more.

GL 😎 and like I said, if tou decide to get a Nezha, be sure to get rhe STRONG version...
I bought the Standard and found the magnets are way too light...
buuut when I opened up the edge wing pieces to stack some 3×2mm N35's I have from a Moyu RS3M magnetic kit, there was no way to stack them, the slots only cover half the magnets so all I was able to get to stay there are somé 2×1mm N50's, which works okay, but I keep threatening to do the same in the corner pieces too haha

Then you also have to pay shipping. And the strong magnet one that you should get, is not marked down to 25, only the weak magnet one is marked down.

But 25 is regular price for weak or strong magnet version, on Cubezz with free worldwide shipping. Downside is shipping can take 2-3 weeks to the US since it's coming directly from China.
Moyu Aochuang WRM is only 30 on cubezz.

Shipping will be free because I’m ordering a MGC 4x4 and timer, but if everyone really believes the Aochuang is worth it, I could drop the 4x4. I watched several YouTube reviews on it, it sounds a lot more stable.

About the magnets, how does the NeZha moderate strength compare to the MGC’s default setup? Just for reference, because that’s all I have at the moment.

And as much as I would like to order from cubezz, it’s a bit too long, and my parents don’t trust international shipping from China.
