I was basically wondering if anybody had a finger trick or an easier version of the 2-Look OLL's orient edges alg?

I do it just like that.

For F U R U' R' F' I use right index for F, right index for U (kinda slow), whole right hand for R, left index for U', whole right hand for R' and right thumb for F'

with finger tricks like F with right index flick
R with wrist movement, U with right index flick, R' with wrist movement, U' with left index flick, F' with right thumb flicking up from the bottom.

Out of interest, why is that? I just do Dw as a U with follow it through with a cube rotation.

One thing, you're using 5 faces instead of the usual 3 for edge orientation.
That will naturally make it slower.

anyway, if you don't like FURU'R'F' (which I didn't) then you can do fRUR'U'f' instead, which is much nicer.

R U R' U' R' F R F' and F R U' R' U' R U R' F' are both very nice algorithms as well. I can't do them as fast as F R U R' U' F' and f R U R' U' f', but they're still very fast.

It's just R U R' U'... I have no idea why it's called that. It's just a common trigger in a lot of algorithms, it can be done with no regrips or pauses, and repeats after 6 times.
