How many of you make a fourth cross edge to preserve in yau? Have you experimented with making a fourth cross edge? I did a couple solves with it (4x4 and 5x5), and I think it could improve my 5x5 times with practice.
In 4x4 if it’s one move off or already made and I can easily move it to the bottom then I may preserve it, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to create and preserve it. I always track the last cross edge throughout L4C though so I don’t spend time in the transition

With my 1:30 I may not be the reference but I do it the same way.
If I have an easy 4th cross edge and a bar to preserve it, I keep it.
Otherwise I just continue and start with the centers
Same counts for inserting the first F2L pairs before I start with the last edges in 5x5.
If I see them, I insert them, otherwise I don't spent too much time searching them.
