[WR] Martin Lopez 24.92s Megaminx single

Crazy 😎

The Video doesn't even look so fast.
Maybe because he seems to be very quiet and large parts of the Megaminx are not moving.

What surprises me is how he got the same judge for all five solves.

Here in Switzerland it's like this for most competitions.
Judge and Competitor stay at the same table for all 5 solves. After a solve they give the cube to a runner and wait until they get the next scrambled cube.

I like the system, because it's much less movement around you, the competitor can stay focused at his table and between the solves you can talk a little bit with your judge.
But I have't experienced something else yet

Here in America they only do that during Finals.

I haven't done megaminx in years. What is the deal now, do you still have to take the puzzle apart and manually sand down every piece to make it fast, or are these speed-demons using stock cubes?

megaminx hardware has improved a lot. a stock yuhu v2m, dayan, or gan megaminx are all speedsolvable and magnetic.

Martin Lopez has made a reconstruction! (use subtitles if you don't know spanish)

Quite a solution. 😳
