Soo... end of semester is killing all of my time and motivation for cubing. I still prioritize chess and (independent) math study as hobbies, so I basically spent no time on anything cubing-related for over a month. and... I'm pretty sure I am going to have to basically relearn the sune algs if I want to use them effectively again. It's somewhere in my head, but that head is now super sluggish. I probably will not relearn them for a while. This is the same thing that's happened to T ZBLL, I'm afraid.

I recognize the cycle of learning a lot of ZBLL, forgetting almost everything, not relearning them until it's really all gone, trying to relearn and regretting you didn't practice the algs more.
It sucks.

Hello guys, I've grown an interest in cubing once again as recent developments in ZZ seem quite promising. I'm going to start cubing, starting by relearning the ZBLL i've forgotten. I can't wait to kick off this new journey! Happy April fools.
Lol, it has been a full 365 days (366 because leap year?) since my last "update."
I don't have a fool for you guys today. Only update I've got is that I reached 2200 lichess rapid. Cubing is still only in the back of my mind; I haven't done many (if any) timed solves in the past year. I may come back at some point still, so don't lose hope!

No way that’s like 1000 on chess.com /j

So I'm starting uni 1st year very soon--I'm pursuing a double major in math and CS. It's not impossible that I make a return into cubing in 2025. I kinda have been eyeballing ZZ-C as I had learned (like a year ago?) that full (ZZ) OLS has been learned by a speedsolver for the first time. No other significant updates (2300 lichess rapid lol), I just tried a few 3x3 solves for the first time in a looong while and I seem to average around 11. Not too shabby considering I pretty much didn't touch a cube for almost 2 years.

So i got a YS3M ball core because all of my previous cubes have worn down--velite broken edge, tengyv1 two broken corners, wrm maglev (the one from 2021) has very loose center caps and is flimsy. I gotta say, this puzzle is without a doubt the best performing 3x3 I've tried. It's as reliable as the RS3M but better in every way. Now I can come back to cubing soon with a puzzle that actually works well

So I was doing some casual OH solves and I got a 11.48 randomly. easiest eo223 ever and a RUL gen ZBLL that I actually knew (not really a flex since it was just pi COLL but damn). PB by far and this was totally out of the blue. Didn't return to cubing yet, but lowkey this might motivate me to take up OH (the one place where ZZ is actually kinda cool lol)

Goodbye ZZ-HW. I genned most of WDLL. Unfortunately it is bad.

New quest: Master the 4 original variants Mr. ZZ himself came up with. ZZ-A, ZZ-B, ZZ-C, ZZ-D.

Road ahead:
1. learn ZZ-B, so that I can dip my toe into all of the ZBLL CP sets.
2. learn ZZ-D, to finish off 2GLL. Also, good OH variant
3. finish off TUL ZBLL
4. learn full Pi/H ZBLL
5. learn full sune/antisune ZBLL
6. learn OLS (probably not in its entirety)
Hey, I picked up ZZ-HW to generate algorithms for it and the most likely reason ruffleduck over here gave up on the set was he was looking for OO type of algorithms, the kind that accept multiple RUFfS and rotations and any kind of generator moves. My algorithms are focused on being a little bit longer for the purpose of being a whole lot better for fingertricks and maybe speed? As of July 13th 2026 I (and with help from Mr.Glenor) have generated 63 out of the 72 algorithms and we plan on finishing it!
Also, with permission from Eff himself, we changed the algset name to WGLL (Wittingtonsworth GPL Last Layer) and it's pronounced Wiggle (don't take that seriously I'm just parodying ruffleduck's post) the following link also has a changelog tab for documenting how long it took to generate it and another tab that will have WSLC (Wittingtonsworth Style Last Corner) algs!!! So everyone will finally have access to what this variant could've possibly been!!!!!

I'm surprised and scared that someone has the courage to stand up to this atrocious alg set. I remember spending lots of time looking at algs, both "OO"-style and more traditional...more time than I would like to admit lol.

Thanks for the editing access to your zz-cop spreadsheet, however I still can't edit it, it's saying "view only", which is the same situation Eff is going through in that sheet.
So I'm starting a new one from scratch, prepare for zz-cop 2026 edition✅️

Hey, forgot to ask: What do you think of the WGLL algs? That is if you even have a speedcube laying around to test them lol

Don't know where to see the algs. but i dont have a cube laying around anyway; quit cubing quite a while ago aside from fidgeting with the new 7x7 i got
I did link the spreadsheet a few messages above. But it's fine, you prob don't even have that much interest in method development either way, sorry for bothering you so much. You can go back to chess or whatever life's getting ready for ya👍🏼
