YJ KL Speedcubing 2023

Probably not the most exciting comp for all of you, until you see who's coming. I think this may be the first comp in Malaysia posted here. I will post my results and potential records here. I'm coming on Friday to compete at 6x6 which is on the same day as all the blindfolded events so I may have a chance to see Hill Pong Yong Feng break a 4bld or 5bld WR in person so that's exciting! (At least to me)

Comps tomorrow, registration ends at 1:30pm but 6x6 doesn't start until 5:40pm, once I get there I can't compete until 4 hours 10 minutes later at least. Plenty of time to practice I guess? I do need to do a bunch of warm up solves before I average my fastest. If I arrive at the latest time to register the only events I can watch are 7x7 and 5bld.

Well, Hill Pong DNF'd all 3 attempts. No WR for me to watch. Maybe Yiheng will tomorrow? Also he's sitting less than 5 meters from me rn.

Where do you live? There is one comp in Johor on April 1st (not joking, seriously).

How did my 6x6 solves went? Well, my first solve was a 3:24 since I'm very nervous but the other solves are a 2:52 and a 2:51 and I'm happy with that. Except that I only recorded the worst solve and the rest of the video is just filming my face because the camera got knocked to a different angle.

Sadly no, I also searched and checked every MGC 4x4 there is still left in here but none of them are mine. It was right before my group is about to start too, luckily one very daring friend I just met let me borrow his X-man ambition and I was able to compete. I'm not letting anyone touch my cubes again.

I did decide to buy a new 4x4 soon but my mom recently banned me from buying cubesso I guess I'll never be able to compete at 4x4 again.

Huining Huang got 1.85 AsR Pyraminx average.

Yee Wen Foo got 2.80 Malaysian NR Skewb average.

He just did his solves. He got a 4.35, 3.90, 4.41, 5.31 and I unfortunatly didn't see the last solve but it was probably a mid to low 5.
