[AsR] Yiheng Wang 4.91 3x3 CR

Erik Aaldksjdlajdiskjs
It's funny how Akkersdijk is super basic in Dutch yet so confusing for English (or in your case Portuguese) speakers lol
Breakdown:
A as in arc, kk should be obvious, ers kinda like the irs in first but with a rolling r, d should be obvious, ij is the hardest because it doesn't exist in english afaik, but you can probably search for a yt video on it. k, again, is obvious.
It literally translates to field dike (akker = field, dijk = dike, the s is just a random letter dutch people like to throw between words to smash them together)

Congrats, you can now flex your Dutch skills

I've been eyeing Yiheng for years. It's mind-blowing that it required precisely one match against him for Leo to immediately predict that he would have the world record average within about a year. That's high praise from the top.

An important thing to remember though is that practiced children his age aren't nearly as mentally-challenged (if at all) in comparison to adults when it comes to things like spatial awareness as they are in terms of emotional reasoning and things like that. They don't get a magical spatial awareness boost just for growing up so he should be thought of roughly the same way as anyone else with his amount of experience.

People made that mistake with Leo. While Leo did turn out to be insane and is still a very serious threat to the world record, he didn't magically become twice as good with a little age and utterly mop the floor with everyone, mass producing averages twice as fast as second best, which people seemed to expect.

That said, Yiheng is tiny and his hands presumably are going to get much larger. So we actually can expect a free TPS increase. The idea of him someday manhandling cubes like Ruihang is something frightening to consider. Ruihang's hands are probably going to get a little bigger and stronger too that matter.

there is also more potential in color neutrality
I'm not as sure about that as I would have been a few years ago. Chinese solvers are slowly proving that color neutrality might not have been the holy grail we once thought.

The idea was popularized by Feliks, who is just insane in general besides it, but the concept didn't seem to be as latched onto in China. There's an argument that it requires a color neutral solver six years to become as familiar with a given color for every year a cuber specializing on that one color spends.

If Yiheng has been practicing on white for five years, it's not unreasonable to argue that he has the equivalent of thirty years worth of experience on white as a color neutral solver, which is not even close to a small deal.

It's becoming harder and harder to say color neutrality is objectively better. I concede that as a color neutral solver.

Without the timer fail, this would be a 4.86 TRIPLE TIED WR average.

rip

Well done though to Yiheng, Sub-4.91 soon!
the 4.7 would've been around a 4.5 so still the fastest and therefore non-counting solve, and the 5.53 would've been like a 5.2 and therefore still the slowest and still not counting, so the avg would still remain 4.91 regardless

that reminds me the argument: how many color neutral cubers are needed to change a light bulb?

researches show that 2 are needed.
one to change it the other one to time it
