Jperm knows how to sell, thats why he has over 1 million subscribers, i dont know if you know this, but creating a successful youtube channel is impossible without marketing

Picture it this way, your youtube channel is a product, your job is to get people to buy it, that’s basically all youtube is, “if i see your product and dont buy it, thats your fault, not mine” Seth Godin, successful blogger, author, and speaker. colorful pockets marketing sells him self short, thus he is underrated

if he’s underrated than thats his fault, you can have the best content in the world, but its all for nothing without good marketing
he used to be very well known. the only reason he's considered 'underrated' is because he stopped uploading 4 years ago. Cubing blew up during the lockdown but most of the new people, rather unsurprisingly, have not heard of the guy who only uploaded 5 times between 2019 and now. It's not that he's poor at marketing, it's that his channel is a piece of the past.

Creating a fan base IS marketing, its called a “tribe” the goal of a tribe is to spread the word of the product, colorful pockets got rid of his tribe by not uploading, he ruined his tribe,

well, none of us are (super) successful youcubers, so maybe, if we get there, then we will be in a place to even care about this stuff

bro he stopped doing youtube. you cannot be sat here talking about how he's failed when he literally does not do youtube.

Or a year of hard studying on marketing

A shame all that effort was wasted; you clearly misread the title of the class to be “YouTube marketing”

The first thing you need to know about marketing on YouTube is that everything you know about marketing mainstream products either doesn’t apply or needs to be modified. PewDiePies channel, on paper, using traditional marketing knowledge, should not succeed. Neither should xQc succeed on Twitch. And yet they are both immensely popular. On the other hand, there are many other YouTubers with just a few tens of thousands or a hundred thousand (small in their niche) that should theoretically have millions.

Also, at risk of sounding discriminatory, I must say that I don’t tend to take the knowledge of a 13 year old to be expert level unless they have a proven track record of being far above the average intelligence/maturity level for their age.

Either way though, you’re making the wrong base-level assumption by thinking that everything that applies to typical product marketing also applies to growing an internet audience via a platform like YouTube.

I will stay loyal to the gang: (it’s not 1000 BC so I’m not calling it tribe) and he does definitly still have support if you look at the comments begging him to upload. He moved on to cult of the clock tower, his board game podcast, and has many fans there. He has a cubing podcast, Layer by layer, which is also inactive but amazing. Even though he has moved on from cubing influencing he will continue to be a great influence with the stuff he already had. @ColorfulPockets

In my opinion it is pretty simple: if he doesnt upload for over a year, he is not a good youtuber. He (colorful pockets) might have been (one of) the best, but the question was 'who IS the best', not who WAS
Felix Zemdegs hasn’t set a world record in over a year and many still consider him to be the best.
