Hello everybody, nice to be here, I'm Andrea (55 yo), I started cubing sparingly last year with the beginner method and now I'm using CFOP.
My actual goal is lower my average time to under a minute (I actually suck, I know...) and work from there.
The parts where I struggle the most is cross (slow) and F2L (slowest), I'm actually practicing a lot of crosses and F2ls but I can't seem to improve a lot.
Andrea

I feel you. Same happens to me. My current goal is to solve the 3x3 under 1 minute. I still get stuck analyzing possibilities and combinations in the F2L stage. Well, let's keep practicing! Welcome! I'm new here as well.

have u learned lbl?
my advice for learning is
1. LBL
2. Cfop
F2L first
then learn to solve white cross faster
then learn 2- look oll
and finally pll
would be nice if u learnt full pll too

Thank you all for the welcome!
I'm using a website which generates scrambles with fixed number of moves for cross (from 1 to 8) so I'm trying to get faster with easy cases (like 4 moves) and solve them without looking at the cube. As long as I can see it should be useful in the long run.

Welcome to the forum. One more older cuber but I guess forums are a little old style and so there are more older players here than on other places.

I'm 46 and from switzerland. My mother is italian, so i'm there quite a lot.

Cross and F2L are hard to do fast. It's a slow process but with a lot of practice you will get better. I'm still slow at crosses and F2L but at some point in the last weeks I got instantly better at crosses. But I'm still happy if i solve a complex cross faster than Max Park a whole cube 😜
But at least i see most parts of the cross solution now
