I think this one’s tricky because not all brands make the same puzzles. For example, I LOVE many of the cubes DaYan makes, but they don’t make a clock. For clock I would say QiYi—but for 5x5 or Megaminx, I’d put DaYan.

Gan and MoYu probably make the best 3x3 cubes; however, whichever is the best brand is relative. It ultimately comes down to personal preference. One person might love Gan cubes, while another may prefer MoYo cubes. Gan cubes tend to be lighter and MoYu tends to make cubes on the heavier side. So if you like lighter cubes, choose Gan; if you like heavier cubes, choose MoYu (although this isn't to say that other brands are "worse". Gan and MoYu are just more popular than QiYi, YJ, etc.).

YJ is considered by most people to be the best brand for larger cubes (4x4, 5x5, etc.), although the MoYu Aosu is certainly a formidable competitor for 4x4s. The X-Man Spark and Valk lines are good but are becoming a bit outdated. Most people prefer these brands, but that doesn't mean that it is the best brand for you.

To summarize, there isn't really a "best" brand. The "best" brand is relative and it depends on everyone's personal preference (some brands are certainly better than others, though). Whichever brand is the best can also be influenced by price.

Of course, seeing what cubes work best for other people will help you determine what cube is best for you.

I'll say: DaYan always has the most aesthetically pleasing designs to me.

I will say, they are awful regarding cube performance out of the box, but given a lot of tlc, I honestly think they're up to par. I use a zhanchi pro as a main at present; when set up right, it feels a lot like a mix between a tengyun, a guhong v4, and a valk. Super buttery but very snappy and compact.

I'll assume you were talking about the best brand for all WCA events since you didn't specify.
GAN: Viable 2x2, 3x3, Pyraminx, Megaminx, Skewb.
Moyu: Viable 2-7, Skewb, Pyraminx.
Qiyi/XMD: Viable 2-7, Pyraminx, Megaminx, Skewb, Clock, Square-1.
Dayan: Viable 2x2, 3x3, 5x5, Megaminx
YJ: Viable 2-7, Megaminx.
Yuxin: Pyraminx.
To me, Qiyi seems to be the clear winner in regards to overall performance for all events.
I would rank it in order from best to worst: Qiyi, Moyu, YJ, Dayan, GAN, Yuxin
Of course, this is just my opinion, depending on what the word "best" is referring to, there's definitely room for interpretation.

i like gans 3x3s, they always have a premuim feel even before you open it. no other cube company that i tried gives off the same vibe. however, it has a high price to its name, so if price is a factor, i think dayan is good. ive only tried the tengyun v1 m before though. idk for other cubes, just 3x3

For YJ, they still need to up their 3x3 game in my opinion. The Elite v2 and Evo are good, but I wouldn't necessarily say they're on the same caliber as the wrm2021, tornado v3, and 13 Maglev. I would say of the two, the Elite v2 is the more viable option, as the Evo has a plethora of quality control issues that lead it to being an incredibly fragile cube.

I’m afraid to say that yuxin has all but lost relevance in speedcubing. The things they had going for them were their budget lines but with the mgc series this completely goes out the airlock. I think they have stopped trying to compete, an now they will probably just sit in the corner rivaling Shengshou in non wca

Ah, thanks, I hadn't really heard much about it.

Very close between Qiyi and YJ in my opinion but I main slightly more YJ cubes than Qiyi cubes. The Valk 3 being my 3x3 main makes this very tough for me, as the Valk is such a good cube and has made me get back into 3x3 and is bringing me down to almost sub 10 after months of not practicing 3x3.

I love Moyu! My main 3x3 besides my first garbage amazon cube has always been a Moyu. RS3M 2020 and RS3M 2021. Until recently when I got the X-man tornado v3. But my main 4x4 is also Moyu.
