Hi there.

Though I have been improving recently, my average has reached a standstill around 16s. I found that it was the last layer that was holding me up. Though my cross and F2l are really fast, F2l under 8 seconds most of the time, my last layer sucks.

I can't execute OLL and PLL algorithms fast. In almost every solve, there is one lockup in both OLL and PLL each, if not more.

Also, I am having trouble with 2-sided OLL Recognition. There is no good video for that on YouTube. What can I do for it?

Finally, I have a question regarding PLL. What should be the maximum time under which I can execute all my PLL algorithms (except n perms) ?

Please help me out.

Your F2L is really good, at that speed it is easy to get sub 13/12.
You could just drill the algs by repeating them over and over. What cube do you use?
For OLL recognition, recognise by looking at what shape is on the top, and the patterns (headlights, blocks, etc)
For your PLL speed, sub 1.5 is ideal (I can get sub 1 for 90% of them

Hopefully this helped.

Our f2l speed is very similar, but your last layer is slower than your f2l. Thats very odd. It leads me to believe that you don’t know full oll and pll, but I am probably wrong here. If your last layer is taking up 9 seconds, while mine takes maybe 3-4 seconds something isn’t quite adding up.

If you haven’t already, try executing your last layer algorithms from home grip. This is very important for the easy cases, and you’ll find a minority of LL algs starting with a regrip. Then drill your algorithms.

As for actual PLL times, aim to get all of them comfortably sub 1.5. I can do over half of all plls sub 1 and excluding n perms my slowest is about 1.35 and that’s F perm. One thing I improved last summer was PLL times and general alg consistency since my plls were sloppy. But if you can give me some more context to work with I could probably be more help here

Thanks. I use the Moyu RSM 2020.

Yeah, I know full PLL and almost half of the OLLs.
Another thing, I said F2l takes under 8 seconds. The cross does take about 1.8 seconds and so, the last layer takes around 6.3 seconds.

Ok sorry I included the cross as part of the f2l that’s why

Yes, I do know, along with good fingertricks. I don't know why I get so much lockups so often in PLL execution. The same cube which tolerates fast turns during f2l kind of breaks down during last layer.
If you're getting frequent lockups, your turning is inaccurate. Focus less on speed and more on accuracy.

On the csTimer just select last layer scrambles and practise on them.

Also do PLL time attack drills and OLL time attack drills.
