Hello!

I'm Kalindu from Sri Lanka. I'm 32 (a late bloomer in cubing world 😅). I'm an electrical engineer by profession. Music is another hobby. I sing and play some instruments (I've heard most cubers are into music as well)

I've known how to solve a Rubik's cube for about 12 years and never bothered to get into speedcubing until September 2021. I like collecting different puzzles, and the craze began when I ordered 10 cubes from the Cubicle last year. Now I own 100+ different types of twisty puzzles.

There weren't any WCA comps in my country, and cubing wasn't much popular here. So, I searched for other cubers scattered around the country and gathered them using social media; contacted a WCA delegate (Akash Rupela), and organized the first ever WCA competition in Sri Lanka on 2nd April 2022.

I was averaging around 1:30 for 3x3x3 when I started speedcubing last year, and now my PR is 20.38, my PB at home is 16.40
I love solving various puzzles. I want to try out all the WCA events whenever I get the chance. My favorite event is 3BLD.

Though I was late to get into this hobby, It gives me enormous pleasure. So, better late than never...

Great to see someone putting in the work to get a new country on to the WCA map! From the report it seems like the first ever Sri Lanka competition went really well, especially considering the economic and political challenges in the country. I hope those challenges don't derail the future of cubing in your country.

And BLD-solving is really rewarding. I'm glad you enjoy it and I hope you get more chances to do 3BLD in competition.

Welcome! Closing in on sub 20, I see 😀
Thanks 😊

Yes. We are planning to organize another competition soon, despite the situation of the country.
