Fellow cubers from Australia, are things really this bad?

I did chuckle at the line:
"Australia now has two classes of citizens : the Lower Class, and the Even Lower Class"

Most mainstream media outlets won't cover this topic. One that does is Russia Today ( RT ) , website: rt dot com.
You will certainly find articles about anti-lockdown protests.
RT have a reputation for producing pro-Russian propaganda, so they're not an unbiased source of info .... interpret their content as you see fit.

I have been wanting to ask this question for several weeks to those that live in (and also those who have recently visited) Australia, but I guess when I saw this video today, I had more of a motivation to ask if human rights are being taken away to this extreme in Australia (due to covid).
The guy explaining the video is quite expressive and has a nice pony.

This may not concern me, since I am not Australian, but from what I’ve seen about the Covid situation there, their government is very authoritarian about the relatively mild situation whenever a very small surge pops up.

I saw an article a couple months ago about a group of teenage boys, all of whom were 16-18 years old, who broke the lockdown rule, and were just having fun with their friends. All of them got prison sentences. This seems absurd to me, and it also makes me appreciate the freedom that we have in the US that isn’t given in any other country. The 8th Amendment to our Constitution prohibits “cruel and unusual punishment,” which I’m pretty sure is what this would fall under.

It seems to me that this is definitely taking away human rights, as you say, and it is an example of how the world governments and politicians are desperate to seize power and to have a large amount of social and economic control over their citizens.

Pretty sure it has zero to do with taking away human rights or seizing power. There's a pandemic every nation on earth is trying to fight. Since Sars CoV 2 does not come with an instruction manual the way to deal with it is by no means obvious. I am sure measures will vary from being effective to useless and rules will vary from being inadequate to over the top. Everyone has an opinion on every aspect of it and everyone is a qualified virologist, immunologist, vaccinologist, epidemiologist, ecomonist, human rights expert etc etc. My only expertise is knowing they are all just trying to do their best to make the world as good as it was before the pandemic. Whether that's locking people inside their houses for a month or allowing everyone to do as they please in the hope it doesn't kill too many. No offence but your post comes across a bit flat earthery.
