Is it just me or is the WCA website down?

[simontiger]

So I wanted to look around the WCA website, and it appears to be down. Is it just me? If it's not did it just decide to go down like all websites do sometimes, or did the WCA intentionally do this to make some major changes or something like that?

Edit: (Just noticed Max Park broke the 3x3 WR average yesterday, which is amazing, so it's kinda sad to see the official website that keeps track of all of this go down the day after.)

Yeah, I think you are right, that it is down, cause it is the same for me too: gives me "We're sorry, but something went wrong." whenever I try to sign in. Hopefully it will be back online soon. Sad times .

Not just you - has been down for a little while for me. Hopefully back up soon.

This is almost surely why it has been going down the past couple of days. New WRs, especially in 3x3x3, bring much higher than usual traffic to the website. It's silly, as people are checking results pages that won't hit the actual database for a few days. Just go directly to the live.worldcubeassociation.org website if you want to see the live results, that didn't go down all weekend as far as I'm aware!

It has gone back up! Apparently there's this new section about merch, so that's probably why it went down

Is there a Twitter page or some place that can announce records and can take a massive surge in traffic?

That has been there for about a week now.

The WCA already uses various social media platforms, and that doesn't prevent surges in traffic.
