Screw noise drove me nuts (as soon as I began cubing), so I personally use maglev just to eliminate that. Springs were also a substantial source of friction.

There are a couple of mods that put magnets around the inside edges of the center-pieces, which could potentially combine with the maglev system, reusing some of the magnets. Either way, I expect maglev will become ubiquitous before long. It's just better.

btw you know that spring noise will be replaced by magnet noise, right? @Zain_A24 can explain it better.

However, I do think it will still soon become ubiquitous especially in flagships because there are many advantages to less contact between pieces:
no need to lube core
glidey feel
longer lasting cube
and more

I don't think maglev is good for me as my super duper rich friend of my friend bought the gan 12 maglev and he said it was uncontrollable. That's why I'm gonna get the gan 356x (not to brag).

I have tried the m. It comes with yellow magnets(medium). I wanted a stronger magnet which comes with the x
There is not really a big difference between the M magnet strengths and the Strongest magnets on the X are pretty similar, as the yellow on the M is not the same as the yellow on the X. Plus you wont have clicking magnet issues with the M since the magnets are not changeable

I just want my standard screw and spring system.

I really would prefer if it didn't become ubiquitous as I think it adds unnecessary extra weight to replace a feature that I actually prefer. Then again that's just my opinion and maybe if this does happen I'll be able to use my MS for the next ten years.
Yeah, flagships should include 12 magnets for maglev and also 6 springs, so that people can choose which one they like.

Being able to buy aftermarket upgrades would be a big selling point for me (so they wouldn't need to include everything in the box).

The Cubicle just released a DIY core-magnet upgrade for the 2021 WRMs, which is cool (especially, if you're in the US), but it would be better if MoYu did that kind of thing officially, with kits for swapping out the magnets, contact surfaces, face-colors etc, as well as spare parts. Obviously, not for every cube, but a flagship that supported that kind of thing would be awesome.

I love my WRM2021 Maglev.
The RS3M Maglev is loud, feels VERY sandy out of box. Screams for lube, But feels better than the 2020.
The main difference between springs and magnets is, that springs usually do have a more linear reponse, while magnets are more like x^2. Seems to fit my style nicely.

I have the maglev RS3, and it does have an obvious sandy feel without lube. I've ordered the WRM (specifically for its better internal surfaces), but it's coming from China (so can't compare them yet).

Ideally, I prefer not to use lube at all (I'm not really a speed-cuber). When I need lube (like with the RS3), I always disassemble the cube, clean everything properly, then rub lube into all of the contact surfaces, applying it with a rag. It still feels nice, and lasts a while, but doesn't make that nasty, wet, sticky sound, and seems less prone to forming gunk over time.

It'd be nice to be able to use the maglev WRM without lube.

5 solves and you have scratches where plastic runs against plastic. It feels sandy but not as bad as the RS3M Maglev.
I use lube sparringly. My WRM Maglev got 2 drops of very thing gear oil 100cSt silicone lube. After 100 solves, the edges looked very dry again, and I added 1-2 drops of 4000cSt to the edges. Pulling slices apart 50 solves later, I can see only very slight blank/oily surfaces.
I lube pretty sloppy, and tries not to overdo it. Keep it at a minimal level

The feel is preference. I can appreciate both dry smoothness like in my zhanchi and a more lubricated smoother feel.
