May be a stretch, but has anyone else had this problem with a GAN M (or any GAN cube I guess, though I have not had this problem with my 11M)? After only 2-3 days of use, mostly OH, the white, yellow and orange sides are starting to show some odd black stains (maybe others, I can't tel yet) and I've no idea what they are or how to remove them.. they look quite a lot worse in reality, the white is almost a light grey honestly, but the camera is struggling to pick them up

I have tried to clean them off, but to no avail

EDIT:

It was indeed to do with the frosted coating on the cube, after a few more weeks of using it the coating is completely gone and the marks with it.. it is now only visible on the white centre cap as this has a secondary layer of frosting to protect the logo.

That's interesting. It almost looks as if you somehow smeared something on it or something of that nature. Also, do you solve cross on white or yellow? I've had stickered cubes where the white and blue faces have chipped a lot, and it may be due to me solving on white/yellow cross. Thus, I'm wondering if your fingers affected it in any way. I'm not very knowledgeable about plastic, and it may be a defect, but it might be short contacting GAN:

That was my first thought, but I'm inclined to believe it's part of the plastic, and not on the plastic..

Neither, I use Roux :p

I am CN with CFOP but I haven't used it on this cube as I've basically only been using it for OH and have only owned it for a few days.

I'll go via the store I bought it through first, they're extremely good at getting back to me quickly, and see if they have any knowledge about it etc but it seems a sensible thing to do, thanks.

It most certainly is not ink.

I have scrubbed the entire cube with acetone, it is not ink.

Additionally, it is on every single side in the exact same pattern, ink would be far more random.
that's weird... maybe you should contact gan

Is it underneath the color? It may be that the color on the side is wearing off because the core is pulling it in too much, in the internal color is showing. Maybe loosening the cube?

I am pretty sure it's under the frosted coating, maybe (because I can see it at the edges of the pieces also).

The colour also remains if I remove the caps so it's nothing to do with the insides of the cube nor it's tension.

The cube is also only 2-3 days old, so it's far from worn.

It's also not my only cube (I have a dozen or so good 3x3s) so it's not the end of the world if I end up with a grey face one this one, it's entirely an oddity
