Hi, i'm a verbose old white-haired cuber from Italy, i started cubing with a tiny Rubik's keychain in the late '80s (the big one was too expensive!) using a dumb layered self-tought method.
Just few years ago discovered that the speedcubing community rises so high and it's still an incredibly evolving world, both for hardware and algs.
Then i bought some cheap speedcubes (a MoYu set -MoFangJaoShi?!- including 2x2x2, 3x3x3, 4x4x4, 5x5x5, 6x6x6, 7x7x7) and a bunch of Yuxin little magic.
In the last years i re-started playing and i found that my old method was somehow similar to the CFCE, then i started turning to CFOP because i found it a lot easier to recognize the patterns.
I'm still missing ~20 OLLs to go... but at my age every new algorithm costs almost an old one!! What a mess! :D
I find it's very hard to improve!!!
PB:
2x2x2 = 2.74
3x3x3 = a very lucky 10.55 (average~19)
4x4x4 = 1:44.51 (i hate 4x4x4!)
5x5x5 = 3:26.73
6x6x6 = 10:59.92 (i really hate 6x6x6!!! :D )
7x7x7 = 13:30.10
.. and thanx to cubing, i can still watch movies in the evenings without falling asleep!!!! :D

Welcome!

you are very smart to have devised a method on your own! Not many people can do that, Congrats!

Welcome! Cool that you made a method!

Wow, thanx, but it wasn't such a brillant method...
I'm just trying to remember..
1. first layer (on top!! i always used blue), with aligned sides
2. rotate upside down
3. align side centers
second layer:
4. first three edges with a lot of R2 D2 [L or L2 or L']
5. last edge with a really tortuous alg that i cannot recall nor rebuild...
6. then, last layer using repeatedly very few algs i found centuries ago on a sheet, one for corners (both orienting and permutating), another to orient edges and last one was an old U-perm.
That's it, i think i was about 45 seconds...

that is beginners method but with a more advanced last layer method, and you devised most of this up! Amazing. I couldnt even get 45 seconds on beginners method, but that was without the advanced last layer method.
