I didn't think I could do it because every time before I attempted solving on a different cross color, I felt like a hog on ice.

I recently started doing a yellow cross(normally white on bottom, cfop 3x3)

I'm actually getting better at yellow now... Not near white but getting better.

Yellow of course is easier than another color because it's whites opposite.

I'm going to attempt another color. If I can do, say orange, I think I can get them all.

I don't know how much if will help, but bad crosses bother me, and I think 6 choices would help me.

It's a long road, but if nothing else, I'll at least come out with a dual color neutrality.

Nice! I am duel color neutral as well, (white and yellow), but yellow is a little bit slower. And also, please try to post this in a mega thread or something instead of creating individual threads : )

Good luck! I switched to color neutral after I was sub 10 seconds, so if I could do it, you can too!

22 seconds...
Now is the best time to be color neutral! The sooner the better! The more you wait, the more difficult is will become.
I became full CN when I was averaging 30, now I average 12 and I do every cross color as easily as I do white :p
edit: Unlike most people, I became full CN all at once instead of learning one color at a time. I think this is a faster way to become full CN, but it's also more difficult.

How long did it take you learning all at once, and how much time did you shave off once you caught up?

Good luck with that !
I used to do cross on green but then before knowing color neutral I became because I found in every different solves one cross on a different color easier than green

I'm sure you will be soon ! :)

Even i am

It took me around 1 month to become adapted to being full CN. The amount of time I shaved is difficult to say, because I improved a lot for lots of other reasons (such as learning how to insert F2L pairs into the back and full PLL) in addition to becoming CN. I'd say that being CN helped me by one second on average (compared to being dual CN), which doesn't sound like a lot, but now that I'm averaging 12, every second counts.

I became full Color Neutral when I averaged 23 and I haven't changed since. Now I average 9 seconds and it is so worth it.

I'm finding it difficult to find f2l pieces. I'm wirking on orange right now. Even cross edges are a little illusive.

I find myself resorting back to some beginner like techniques, such as making the cross already lined up, or opposite only, instead of being being just anywhere. I will get away from that as soon as I can. I'm jusr trying to get used to the colors. Of course I'm making ths cross on the bottom.

Going from white to yellow wasn't as difficult to recognize f2l pieces, they were somewhat familiar. It's like lerning a foreign language. While white was like learning Spanish, once I mastered that, yellow was like learning Portuguese, very familiar and similar. Jumping to orange is like learning Chinese or Russian. Just relating the I unfamiliarity of it, very different.

I know my mind is filtering out certain colors when Im doing white, and I’ve yet to develop such a filter for orange and other colors. The filter on yellow didn't need as much work because my mind was used to everything and basically just swapped yellow for green and accounting for what was to the left is now to the right.

With orange there's not only no real reference point, yet, but the yellow and orange are both moving around, pulling my attention back to them

I'm sure this all fades away, and gets categorized in the mind eventually, just as a foriegn language learner doesn't get the languages mixed up.

I know it takes time, and I'll give it that.

I felt the same way, trust me it's totally worth it once you get used to it

I can do white/yellow/green and I think green or blue would be easier than orange
EDIT:I am technically colorblind though, so take my opinion with a grain of salt

I think I'll continue this thread as a progress report, that maybe can give someone hope of being able to become color neutral.

I really just started yesterday to move beyond my opposite yellow color, which I've not mastered but am fairly comfortable with.

When I made the original post I had just started messing with orange on bottom.

Now a little over 24 hours later I can sense a small amount of building some new familiarity with my new color.

I was having trouble even locating cross pieces, much easier now, but finding and pairing f2l piece was the next thing presenting difficulty.
I'm just now starting to recognize the new formations.

This may come easier to some than others. I've been so ingrained with white on bottom and yellow on top that I had stopped thinking about it, and my fingers would immediately pair and insert with no real thinking involved.

Now I am having to think about it again, so my next step is to get the new color to the point of see and executive move.

I now feel confident that I should be able to do this. I'm not going to perfect orange befor moving on, but get comfortable with recognition.

My next color will not be red, I will pick blue or green, then with these colors being the main sides, I'll then only have to learn their opposites.

I know some say just start doing them all at once, amd others say spend a week on each one. I'll just have to see how my mind is responding as I progress.

I appreciate any comments or suggestions.

I didn't think it was possible, at least for me and how set in my ways I can be, but seeing the small amount of progression from yesterday to tonight, I'm convinced that I can do it, so I’m going for it full speed ahead.

I think it's just the matter of time. You need A LOT of TIME, so it becomes second nature. Spending whole week or even more just for only color. With at least one week color-focused, you have enough repetition for your subconscious mind. Keep practicing until the color average reach your best of original first color, then switch to the next color.
I was green cross solver, now I get sub 13 of full CN, but I regret not practicing enough to going lower for a year :(
Good luck to you!
But for those who just can solve with one or dual CN, it's good to stick with it, and think more about the solving procedure. CN or not, is just personal taste, I think.
