[Member Intro] I’m new to this and my average is about 1 min 35 seconds

You shouldn‘t wait, there are cubes infinitely better than a rubiks for £5 and there is no advantage to waiting. Using a Rubik’s will just discourage you and slow your progress
He isn’t wrong though. I don’t know how much what he said is but i got a yuxin little magic on amazon for $8

amazon is bad dont buy cubes from amazon i part own the cube store Speedcubing.org so I obviously recommend that store but if you want a good budget speedcube get the meilong you could also pay a bit more to have it magnetised and set up and then it’s on par with the best speedcubes on the market

As someone who's not affiliated with a cube store in any way (lol), speedcubeshop.com and thecubicle.com are great options if you're in the U.S. (which I assume you are based on the time of day you post; I could be wrong of course). I personally buy almost exclusively from The Cubicle, but that's just because I seem to always have a gift card on hand. Speedcubeshop tends to have faster shipping to the western U.S. and Cubicle to the eastern U.S. I would check both before ordering a puzzle, and you can check other places as well. These stores are both 100% trustworthy and have good customer service.

And The Cubicle also has cube stands for 25 cents
Edit: Also welcome!

Most people consider me advanced and I would not recommend Roux if you want to do other events, It's about equal to CFOP for 3x3 but there aren't really any methods that work with Roux that have proven themselves to be equal for 4x4 and higher.

But if I were you I would try them both out and choose whichever is more fun for you.
What about meya

Alright I will check it out
Try looking up intuitive F2L on YouTube. Also, I highly recommend a website called cube skills. Feliks Zemdegs teaches you. You want to go to 3x3 videos and click intermediate and WATCH THE VIDEOS, DONT CLICK THE PDF!!!! Sorry about that.
