Ok, so I use the keyhole method for the first two layers, then 2 look OLL and 2 look PLL, but I average around 1 minute. What would be the best thing to do next to bring my average down?

P.S. First post.

hey, sry. I have a question: I'm a beginner (solve the cube since monday) what is the "keyhole method" and "2 look OLL and 2 look PLL" sry.

Create your cross as quickly as you can, and while you insert an edge piece, try to look for another edge piece to solve at the same time. This is called look ahead. And at PLL, finish it as fast as you can. Shouldn't be a problem to bring your average down to 1 minute. It all boils down to practice.

Your next step should be F2L. Try to learn it intuitively. Read around and watch a bunch of videos and it should start to click. Don't hesitate to start your full PLL. As long as you're comfortable with all your current last layer algorithms I think you could start learning those along with your F2L.

The Fridrich F2L? And I pretty much understand it, it is just some of the hard cases that I am not good at, such as when the two pieces are next to eachother. And I read that there are algorithms to use for those. Do you know the links to any web pages like that? And youtube is blocked for me.

And to answer your question pm6, keyhole is where you solve the bottom cross and three corners, and then using the empty corner solve all of the middle edge pieces.
2 look Oll is when you use two algorithms to orient, or flip the right way, all of the last layer. Pll is using two alorithms to permutate all of the last layer, or to put all of the peices in the correct place.

Well before you get too far I thought i would let you know that Fridrich F2L is not the only F2L out there. You could also learn something like Petrus, Roux, ZZ or maybe a couple others. You should try them and see which one you like best.
