I've been lurking around here for a while and thought it was time I join the forums. I solved my first 3x3x3 in 1982. I learned from my mom and a book from the library. I was 7. I got the "Rubik's Game" for my birthday when I turned 8. I still have it. I was an elementary teacher before I became a mom to 3 kids. In the early 2000s I kept a Rubik's cube on my desk at school. The students would scramble for me, and I would solve. I became introduced to speedsolving in the fall of 2017 after a friend posted online about trying to solve a Rubik's cube. I dug out my old cube, but my hand got too tired turning it! I bought a $3 speed cube at the store and started learning CFOP. I can currently solve a 3x3x3 (best time - 42 sec.) and 4x4x4 (best time - 5:20) . I am learning to solve a Square-1. I currently do some school volunteer work and substitute teaching and like to take my cube along with me to impress the kids. I have no cubing friends in real life, and hope to make some here.

Welcome @Aprylart to the SpeedSolving forums. It is great to have you here and I am glad that you have decided to join SSC. I have only been on the forums for a little over two weeks now, but I have enjoyed every moment of it so far, and the community here is great and I hope that you enjoy it just as much.
