Hi guys,

I am planning to host a comp early next year. Any tips on how to start out?

Definitely read this guide first.

At least you want to find and contact a local delegate in the beginning. Have you attended competitions before? If not, it's super important to ask the delegate for help in the early stage. They will guide you through the process and can often offer some of the gear needed.

I have been to 15 comps. I just do not know some information like where do we get the timers from and who pays for the venue, etc.

I would definitely contact some of your local delegates and they will be able to answer all your questions. The delegates usually have all the timers, stopwatches, etc. The money from the entry fee is used to pay for all the expenses.

Since you have been to so many competitions you know how they are run so that isn't an issue.

I don't want to sound like I'm advertising but I just did an episode on this in the cubing podcast I host. Episode #14.

Hope this helped.:) Welcome to the forums!
