My best solve on camera!

Wow, amazing. How long did it take for you to get to sub-20? I've been cubing for 3 months and I've gone from the beginner layer-by-layer method and 4 minute solves, to learning CFOP and having a best time of 1:12. I'm rapidly approaching the 1 minute mark! I'd love to break the 1 minute mark, but I'd love to know if I'm on the right track and if there's something I should be focusing on.

Hi there, welcome to the forums!

Your doing great, just keep practicing! I would start watching the videos on CubeSkills.com, they are very helpful. Learn the concepts in the order he teaches.

Awesome. Thanks.

@AidanNoogie I totally followed your Cross & F2L, but you lost me on the last layer. What technique was that? That's so much faster than the way I'm doing my OLL and PLL.

Hi,

Do use 4-look last layer? I'm using 2-look last last layer which is the intermediate way of solving it.

Like CornerCutter said just go to Cubeskills.com, and watch the videos in Optimising the Beginners Method it will help a lot.

Hope this helped!

Also, it took me about 2 years to get sub-20.

@RyeMAC3 I've been cubing for just over 3 months and I'm averaging around 20 secs. Maybe couple more weeks and I'll be consistently under.

I've done about 4000 3x3 solves, all it requires is practice. Learning f2l and 4-look last layer is definitely going to get you sub-1 very soon. Even 30 seconds is fairly easy with 4lll. Practice, practice and practice. In the beginning of cfop solving, it's possible to drop your times significantly fast.

Good luck! ;)

Thanks for the tips. Been doing 4-look. I achieved my best time last night...59.83 seconds! My next two times are 1:11 an 1:12. Getting better all the time. Practice. Practice. Practice.
