Learn 7 or 8, at a time, or at least a few more than feels comfortable. Initially make sure you get to a point that the one you've picked is the right one and feels comfortable. Make a little summary sheet and print it off unless you always have your laptop on.
Repeat the algs at different times of the day. You can do this by just fiddling, it doesn't necessarily need your full attention, you're building muscle memory, so can do it while watching TV or something. The first 1-2 times you may need to re-learn the alg though.
When you come to a point when you know 5 or 6 of them, use them in a solve, bingo! Go learn some more, or revisit the ones you forgot.
As already suggested, I would learn in sets, there are common features that crop up and make it easier. Triggers, mirrors, etc. For example g-perms, and if you recognise a g-perm and you know all of them you know you will be able to execute it, rather than, o crap that's the one I don't know yet.
