[Unofficial] 4x4 1:05, centres last :D

Which method do you use ?

Even if you didn't see the cage , LOOK AT THE TITLE!!!

Could you be polite please ?

There are many center last method for the 4x4x4 as ofapel's one in addition to the cage method. And many variations of the cage method.

my own variation (: ortega for corners, intuitive R/L faces (like f2l but you solve a dedge at a time), intuitive bottom 2 midges, last 2 midges (with kenneth's/waterman's algs, OLL parity and double parity algs are badie's I think). the you get a cage :D from there i use niklas' and other conjulates or other simple patterns (: i first learnt a solution from http://www.helm.lu/cube/solutions/revenge/ and thought it was to beginnerish so I had the itch to optimize it....however the middle edges are no longer that simple in my variation :D

hope that helps (:
anyway, the ofapel version is too slow for speedcubing. the move count is too high and it is highly inefficient.
P.S. if you look at my 5x5 vids i deal with some stuff differently; i do not do corners first for odd-sided cubes.

oh, didn't catch that.

good call. haha.

either way, i do this all the time when i'm just timing myself, as i assume a lot of people do. i'm sure he wouldn't have done it in competition and the impressiveness of the solve is not lost.

So hjow much time is gained stoppiong the timer while still holding the cube. Virtually nothing.

Great to see the cage method being in such good hands. I'm no longer practising actively. His cage method is quite different from mine. My cage is practically a LBL method, just that centers are done in the end of the solve.

He uses his own center's last method. I use a similar method to him, but I do things a little bit differently. I tend to sacrifice some of my recognition for less turns, and he has a very good recognition. Anyway, Great solve, and I hope to see more from when you improve. I can't wait to see a sub-1 minute solve from you on video.

recognition being sacrificed for speed isn't nice :D its like doing a 6-gen 3x3 alg which is shorter and fingertrick unfriendly vs a 3-gen alg which can be executed much faster. optimize whatever algs you have to be fingertrick friendly =D
