What have you won at competitions?

[Loiloiloi]

I should note that I am referring specifically to prizes. I usually head out before the prize ceremony, but I rarely hear this discussed and am very curious to hear what the average reward is for a podium in 2016.

[Jaysammey777]

I once got a glass cup.

[4Chan]

A meticulously carved wooden egg encased in brushed steel and glass.

Oh, and a few medals from back in 2009, but those days are LONG GONE LOL

[DGCubes]

Probably somewhere in the range of $30 to $45 total, plus podium certificates. Average for me is probably $10, but that's because all I ever podium in is Pyraminx (and feet if it's there and Mega if I'm lucky).

[Cale S]

At local competitions, usually about 15-30 dollars and certificates, medals or trophies

from Nationals: 900 dollars, two 13x13s, 14 other puzzles, and plaques with the word 'blindfolded' spelled wrong

[cuberkid10]

Mostly Cubicle.us gift cards, a glass cup from Discovery Place, and a YuPo from Central Florida (which I used to later set my official 2x2 PB average) Never gotten a medal before, although I want to win one.

[Ordway Persyn]

I got 3rd at Megaminx at my last comp. got a bronze metal and a $5 gift card to the Cubicle. 2nd and 1st for every event got $10 and $15 gift cards respectively.

[turtwig]

Beyond podium certificates and Cubicle gift cards (which I've probably won about $150 of, mainly from Athens Summer Omega and Cajun Cube Clash), here are some things I've won:

A "Second fastest new competitor" award at Michigan May Madness 2014
A medal for being lucky at FMC winning FMC at Florida Feast 2014
A "21st place" medal at Indiana 2015 (probably my favorite award I have, honestly)
An UNFATHOMABLE amount of medals at Cajun Cube Clash 2016
A $50 iTunes gift card at Discovery Place 2016

Side note: Some people at Marietta Mystery are going to get some...interesting prizes.

Wait, but you didn't finish 21st at any event in Indiana 2015

Wait, but you didn't finish 21st at any event in Indiana 2015

At Indiana 2016 they gave about 24 or so medals for KinchRanks of the competition, they might have done something similar in 2015

Wait, but you didn't finish 21st at any event in Indiana 2015

It was an overall award based on these KinchRanks. I was actually 25th in the KinchRanks, but 4 people ahead of me had already left before awards

Can you provide a picture of the award? I'd love to be able to present that to a non-cuber after they ask me if I "won my competition".

[Daniel Lin]

For my first comp I got a 7$ gift card

Got 2nd in 3BLD last Saturday, missed the award ceremony tho
