White or Green?

I have noticed in video's that most people use white to do the cross and I learned from the book to start with green. I was just wondering if I should switch to white instead of green.

It really does not matter to me. I just went by the 7 step guide that was with the cube. But now I am interested in getting fast times so I bought a speedcube type A, a couple days ago and waiting for it to come in the mail. But ya I just been watching alot of youtube videos and noticed alot of people use white.

I still use green but it is a hassle when you start learning F2L pairs since most of the pages that show the positions tend to be white cross.

Not many people know this, but red gives twice as many PLL skips as any other color due to its being on the right side during scrambling and most scramblers being right handed.

I don't see how a side can be scrambled the least to get PLL skips, its all the same.

Dude. What do you mean it's all the same?! Red's got a different wavelength from any other color on the cube, of course you get more PLL skips with red. Why else do you think David Calvo uses red?

Ya, that is why I was thinking about switching. Watching video's and trying to follow along, while having to look at a different color scheme was messing me up. lol

I use white, because that's how I started learning.

I think most people use white because the cross edges are easy to find and your top face will be yellow, so again it's easier to recognise OLLs and PLLs.

I average 35, I just tried with a green cross and got 74 seconds. using any other colour apart from white or yellow completely destroys my F2L recognition. I admire the colour neutral cubers, they have great skills.

If you're comfortable with green, then stick with it. Try white if you want, it's really up to you and it doesn't matter what colour you use really.

Are you really asking this?
You can do what ever you want,

Personally, I start from the side with the most potential

No, I'm not really asking this. Your dreaming.

I know I can do whatever I want. I just did not know if there was a reason why a lot of people use white.
