[Official] ZZ singles: 6.77, 6.26, 5.91 by Hyeon Kyo Kyoung

Well, the fastest "ZZ" solver in the loosest sense.
Since he does not do an actual ZZ-style F2L, some people debate on that point.

But in the strictest sense, Andy would be the fastest officially.

I dont want my ZZ and Hyeon Kyo Kyoung's "ZZ" to be in the same category. So no, thank you very much.

So that's what this means...
Well, it's still cool to have an official sub-6 semi-ZZ solve.

Did a reconstruction of the 5.91:

U r R' U F' R D R' L2' //EOcross
U' L U' L' U L U' L' //F2L 1
U2 R U R' U R U' R'//F2L 2
U R' U2' R U L' U' L //F2L 3
R' U2 R U' R' U' R //F2L 4
R U R' U R U' R' U R U2' R' //OLL
//PLL skip

Yeah, I was aware that some people don't view this as ZZ when I posted this, but I thought this video would be interesting and worth sharing nonetheless.

Clearly it is time efficient :)
I wouldn't say so. In fact i'm sure that if he was to work on his blockbuilding efficiency, he could be even better.

That's also my main problem with this guy. He once claimed ZZ is generally worse than CFOP. Well duh! If you did it right it wouldn't suck as much....

Yeah I guess to be fair, we haven't seen any videos of him doing "proper" ZZ. But I think that it wouldn't be surprising if EOcross is actually better since F2L becomes algorithmic so there would be less pauses (in theory).

In my personal experience, efficient blockbuilding becomes quite algorithmic as well, due to how limited the cases are via edge orientation.... i'm just hella slow :p
