Out of the box it's very fast and dry. Occasionally when you reverse a bit too much because of overshoots, it will lock up and will catch on the center, but it doesn't pop or corner twist at all. I've only used a friend's cube, so I won't know what it feels like after breaking in, tensioning, and lubing (he doesn't do a good job of that) but out of the box, it's already main material.

(This is coming from someone who still uses a Fang Shi Shuang Ren v1 as a main)

Just dumped a ton of traxxas 10k and maru on the pieces and i like it alot more. more controllable and cornercutting improved in that tiny spot between the center and eedge.

Quick question, does this thing perform M turns very well or not?

As a Roux solver, the Yuexiao has very good M slices. It definetly depends on how you setup the cube. But in general, the M slices are good.

Another quick queestion for you guys! If I decide to make the Yuexiao my main (Probably will be) Does anyone have any reccomadations for a cheap cube that represents the Guogan Yuexiao the closest? A cube I can practice with on the go, without having vastly different turning styles, and messing me up?

Something like 10$ and under. Thanks

Here's my review on the Yuexiao covering aspects like corner cutting, mechanism and turning and a few solves at the end :)

My review as a total noob to "speed cubes". lol

GuoGuan Yuexiao 3x3x3 Stickerless Speed Cube 55mm

I bought this based on some reviews I read about it. Also mine is "stickerless" if that matters, and 55mm claimed, ( I have not measured it, I did compare it to a plain old "Rubiks Cube" and it seems exactly the same size)

The only cube I have ever used before this was a real modern brand name "Rubik's Cube". Not the Speed version, just the El Cheapo you can get at a book or toy store.

This cube felt insanely weird to me at first, it is substantially lighter, and so much smoother and easier to turn than a plain old Rubiks Cube. I have solved it around 100 times now I'd say, and I love it now. Since I have never used a different "speed cube" I have to say I have gotten used to it and it's hard to imagine how it could be easier/faster to use. I cannot compare it, but it is very impressive to me.

You might notice I didn't say anything about my best times or methods. I have never timed myself and my method is as basic as it comes with maybe one trick added. :)

My .02 :) /cheers go Indians

My GuoGuan YueXiao arrived Thursday of last week and I was anticipating it. Right out of the box, the cube was smooth and quick. Here is my full review:

PROS
-
Smooth
-Fast
-Colorful
-Corner cutting
-Easy to turn

CONS
-Rough and scratchy sound out of the box (easy to get used to)
-Easy to mess up because of speed

Previously, I used a Fangshi Shuang-Ren V2 as my main. The YueXiao is better by a long shot because of its speed and look. I wouldn't recommend lubricating this cube as it is already quick enough. You should only lubricate it if it becomes slow and useless. All in all, this is one of the best cubes I have ever bought and I anyone looking to buy a new 3x3 would appreciate this.

Now that the MF3RS is out, I'd give it a shot. People say it has similarities with a Valk, which is quite like the YueXiao. It might even become your next main. ok.

The Cyclone Boys is 7 dollars on amazon, and it has the same feel and almost speed, but very little corner cutting.

So, should an intermediate cuber who averages around 23 seconds and has a Moyu Aolong v2 buy this cube?
My average is around 20-25 seconds, so I'm around the same level as you. This is an excellent cube, I would definitely recommend buying it. It does have a unique feel- it has characteristics of the thunderclap, aolong, and weilong.

Just a word of advice to newer cubers:
If you buy a Yuexiao and decide to lube it, never, never, never apply any kind of heavy lube. Please.
My friend destroyed his Yuexiao by using heavy lube on it.

Anyway, if you are experienced enough and choose to use heavy lube at your own risk, remember to take proper care of your cube. The friend I mentioned earlier never did so. As a result, his cube has now become disgracefully sluggish. Disassemble your cube completely and wash out the lube (every bit of it) every 1 - 1.5 months. Clean the core thoroughly (you may use a moistened cotton). Make sure nothing remains inside your cube. If you follow this routinely, your cube will be fine. In fact, it's a good idea to follow this even if you don't use heavy lube. Cleaning your cubes and taking care of them keeps them healthy and happy.

Finally, avoid overlubing your Yuexiao. Do not pour too much lube at once. Start by putting one drop on each of the non-adjacent contact zones (corner-edge, center-edge etc.). 3-4 drops should be sufficient. Use more only if you feel it's necessary.

Alright, that's it. Go ahead and enjoy your Yuexiao!

hmm, I use a white yuexiao and I like the feel of traxxas 50k dumped in it. I see what you are saying, but I break in my lube really well.

@Allahjabark:

Well, as I've said earlier, there's no harm in using heavy lubes if you wash it out periodically.
If you clean the pieces thoroughly every 1 - 1.5 months, your cube will remain healthy for a long time.
