First cubing times of 2009!

Since 2009 has started what have been the very first cube things you have done?

I first did some 2x2 BLD
my VERY FIRST cubing of 2009 and first one was...
DNF (not a good sign)

but THEN i got a nice 14.37 not lucky

then next did a 3x3 BLD from cubemania with this scramble:
U B R' F R' D2 R2 U2 B' L' U R F L' F D F' R B2 L2 D2 R2 F2 L2 B

First 3x3 BLD of the new year! and..... 1:17.31 solved!

What about yours?

Then I picked up my cube!

Then I started turning my cube!

In the end, I finally did a Y perm!!!

I tried to eat my cube, but it didn't work out.

My averages went from 42.02 (Dec. 31, 9AM) to 53.03 (Jan. 1, 3AM)...

Yes, I got progressively worse throughout the day (despite getting various ~40s and ~35s, I still got horrible times!!!)... THIS IS WITH MY LUBED STOREBOUGHT CUBE (I used CRC...)

This is insane; what's wrong with me?
My fingers hurt slightly but my judgment is still on par with when I got my old record (Dec. 30, 26.42!!!!)... I don't get it.

Slow down, look ahead.

Sometimes my averages will go up 10 seconds out no nowhere... just take a break, do slow solves, try again later.

16.62 was my first time of the year. Not too happy with it, but I'm always slow in the morning. (Morning means 1:30pm today )

My first solve of this year was a Pyraminx crystal in about 6:30.xx. On the 3xx3x3 i started with 30.34 and then 30.34! Bad times but i was tired..

I am doing some analysis from 2008 and am going to decide on some changes
(less will be more). It will be a couple more hours
