I've been learning OLL and PLL from some videos and I had a question,

When doing 2-look OLL, do the edge and corner pieces have to be oreinted in the right place before doing the algorithms? :confused:

OLL actually orients the pieces.

If by "orient" you meant does the U layer need to be facing a certain way before you execute, then yes. It should match the direction you see in whatever diagram you're looking at. Just do a U turn until it looks right, then begin.
