Wow. This is incredible what QiYi has done. First with the Thunderclap, and now this. Budget price cubes with TOP-level performance. The Storm is a 9$ aosu guys, without the center pieces popping out. This is surreal. Oh yah, inner layers r fast too unlike the aosu.

So I bought the Storm and the GuanSu at the same time. The GuanSu is better.

I will admit that, the Storm has potential, that's true. Mine doesn't perform quite as well as an Aosu, but with some tensioning and the right lube, it could get there. I don't like the shades nearly as much as a Moyu Stickerless, tho. On "standard" shades, the blue, green, and orange are all a little gross looking.

Meanwhile, the GuanSu is a beast from first turns, breaks in quick, cuts like mad, and is very tunable. Also, it's $1 cheaper than the Storm.

Yep I've heard the guansu is also really good!

I got the Storm recently, was my first QiYi 4x4. It's alright, but I doubt it'll be my main. Doesn't help that it only came in stickerless (I greatly prefer black cubes).

Haha, I understand. I mainly am surprised by the performance given that it's 9$, much like how I was surprised at how good the Thunderclap was. Also the sticker less brights and regular are acquired tastes I agree. I just happen to like them.

Tried one recently, I by far prefer the Guansu, though the Storm was definitely good. I use a Meiyu as my main, though, so perhaps I'm a bad person to judge 4x4s.

Is your MeiYu not defective? Lucky.

I'm probably gonna take a few mintues to try and tune my Storm. I kinda like stickerless cubes adn the only other Stickerless 4x4 I have is the Yuxin, where the shades are just gross. Even though I don't like these Qiyi dark shades, it doesn't seem to affect my recognition. So that's nice.

If I can get it to outperform my Aosu, it can at least be my backup. At least until I also get a (post-defect batch) MeiYu. Or the Aosu GT. Or whatever.

I have the bright version, it's dope lol

My Qiyi storm pops even on tight tensions. It's much tighter than my cyclone boys g4 which is onmedium loose tensions and doesn't pop. I definitely think the storm has a better feel though, since the inner layers are so smooth.

I think it is great. I haven't had a single pop, and it can cut 2 full pieces, and about 1/2 reverse. I don't lock up much compared to my previous 4x4 ( a shengshou:p) The only issue, is the center pieces twisting in place.

So after a couple days of use, my opinion on this cube has changed a bit since the impressions haha. This cube is good, actually, really good. The problem is that it POPS EVERY OTHER SOLVE! It's mostly an internal piece pop but many times an edge will pop out as well, ruining the solve. Pretty disappointed these pops are back, and I'll return to my Yuxin (it's just better overall).
