Extra washer in my NewIsland Phoenix

I ordered a NewIsland phoenix that came in the mail today, I just took it apart to lube and tension it and found that one spring had 2 washers on it, every other spring had 1 washer. I am new to speedcubing and unsure the effects of having an extra washer. Should I leave it out and use it as an extra if I ever lose a washer? or is there any use for having the second washer in there.

There's no real advantage to having that second washer in there, I'd use it as a spare.
