[WR] 5.25 3x3x3 single by Collin Burns

To my untrained eye the cube looked like a Gans 357. I'm surprised to know it was a Yuxin as I have one and found it "not very good and a bit slow and unstable in general". Maybe I will have to give it a second try. Anyway this just demonstrates that the meat is in the cuber and not in the cube. Of course, a better cube will bring slightly better times but no cube is gonna make me sub-6 :)

Like many others have already said, my ears are still suffering from hearing impairment due to the high-pitched screaming all over the place, hehehe.

Also, is it just me or in this solve, and in the OH single WR by Antoine Cantin as well there is a bit of a "surprise moment" over the PLL skip that cost them perhaps a couple of tenths off their WR times? I would assume that for people as good as these guys, PLL skip should be anticipated in the middle of OLL so that they could just drop the cube faster. Maybe I'm wrong.

I also think that we are so close to sub-5 WR now that it can happen at any time... or we could have to wait for another two or three years but, if I have to bet, I'd bet before end of 2015 we will have a sub-5 WR single.

I also have a couple questions just in case anybody knows:
- When Felix got his 5.66 WR single... I have been checking the year of all other solves in the ranking and it looks like the WR at the time was around 1 sec slower or more. Does anybody have the 3x3 single ranking right after his 5.66? Perhaps this query can be done in the WCA rankings page and I just don't know how to do it.
- Does anybody know what's the fastest official full-step solve? I mean with no OLL/PLL skip, but probably with some kind of x-cross, etc., as "full step / non-lucky solve" is kind of difficult to clearly define. It looks like we have reached speeds where a full-step WR is not possible anymore. Also, does Feliks or others have (that we know of) a full-step unofficial sub-5 or sub-WR (current or former)?

After watching this, my 14-20 sec "good" solves seem soooooo slooooooowwwwww..... :(

1. the world record was 6.18 when Feliks got 5.66 the first time.
2. 5.66 is that fastest fullstep official solve. Numerous people have fullstep solves faster than this (including sub 5), although often with very easy F2Ls.

Both of Feliks' 5.66 solves were fullstep :)
Edit: ninja'd, but won't delete because post got quoted :p

No way!!!!

Now it's going to be hard to remember not to say the the world record is 5.55! :D

Yeah, and also. Feliks' record was 5.66, then Mat's was 5.55. Later on, when Feliks got his 5.33 DNF everybody said it was "because we have to go over 5.44 first". And now we have this 5.25? This is not "right"! (I'm kidding, of course). What will be next? 5.15? 5.05? 4.94? Or will we go back to 5.22, 5.11, perhaps even 5.00 and then 4.99. That would be awesome :)

Awwww ya! Let's hope someone breaks it soon!

Am I the only one that wants to see a Drew Brads WR? His 5.97 reaction was awesome so much hype!
