Might seem stupid but i just did it for giggles, open this page, this exact one, have no light on in your room, and see how long it takes you to solve, i didnt time it, but give it a shot so basically just using your computer screen as light. post results below if you bother to try it.

I was the same. I bought a desk lamp and it knocked a few seconds off, lol.

better yet do it with orange glasses, makes the white and yellow sides look nearly exactly the same.

my friend ordered stickers, the opposite to white is grey, they both look the same... its so hard, it doubles my time ( I'm 45 usual and it takes at least 1h30 when I solve his)

At SOC 2008 we tried 3D-goggles with one red and one green eye (the event is "colour BLD"). When Gunnar did an attempt he pointed at one orange sticker and said: "this red sticker looks orange"

It took me nine years and a month for me to solve my first cube.

Wait a sec, it took me 30 years to solve a cube. (im only 13 and the Cube was patented and released worldwide on 1978)

i usually do something similar in a car a night. i live in a heavily forested area, so i have a chance to glimpse the cube every street light or so. i guess it helps with recognition.

one time i couldn't see the cube after OLL, but i did a random PLL and it just happened to be the right one XD

That's like saying it would take years for a paralyzed person to walk a mile. For the most people, solving a cube is just never going to happen without help from others
