you can get the same averages with zero algs that you can with 493 algs.

cube: zhanchi
best avg5: 14.59
best avg12: 16.31

1. (12.48) L2 B F' R' U L2 F L2 F U' B2 R2 L' B2 F R' D' B2 L' U2 F R D' L' D'
2. (23.90) R2 F2 U2 B F2 U' R' D2 F U' R B L2 B' U D' B2 D R2 L B2 L2 B F2 L
3. 18.34 B D2 U' R2 U2 B' R' F' U2 R2 D' U2 B L' U F' U F2 R' F B2 L' F' R B2

8. 15.31 L' D R L2 F2 L D2 U F2 D L U2 L F B' D2 U2 B' D F B2 D' U' B2 U2
9. 14.06 D L B' U' R D2 R2 B F' L' D2 F2 L' F D' L F U2 L U' R' B U' L2 F
10. 14.40 R' L2 B' D' L2 F' D R' D U' B2 F2 R B' R2 D U2 L R2 U2 R2 L' F2 D' L'
11. 19.87 U2 R' D' B2 F L2 B' R2 F' L' D2 U B D' R U2 B' F2 R2 D R2 D' F2 U R'
12. 13.59 F' L U2 F R2 D R2 D F' B2 R2 B' L R U' F U2 R F2 L2 B2 R F B' R2

How I Snyder:

-petrus EOF2L-1
-permute LL edges while inserting last pair. use Heise mentality to get an easier L4C when possible.
-~2 commutators for L4C

doing the EO+LS+LL in this way removes the necessity of algs

and yes, i realize i could have just used Aperm+niklas for those dumb R'D'RD cases...

Inb4 tedious controversy about stopping timer with cube in hand.

OT: great job! I'd love to see a couple of reconstructions or example solves.

This is really cool. Damn, where do you people learn to do commutators like that? I can only do 8 move commutators and some A9s, after that l just get confused. Although I find edge commutators really easy for some reason.

Yeah idk why i sometimes press the spacebar during my last move. I recorded a new 13.89 avg5 without that problem.

And I'll definitely post some Snyder walkthroughs to my blog. I never liked Anthony Snyder's example videos, and a lot of people have asked me to make Petrus blockbuilding walkthroughs. I can kill 2 birds with one stone. Keep an eye out!

lol! yeah I know how you feel. I have a really hard time with most commutators. The cool thing about the Snyder method is that the commutators are isolated to the U-layer, which SIGNIFICANTLY reduces the number of cases you need to know how to solve. There are only 24 possible L3C cases, and most of them are just mirrors and inverses of OLL algs that you already know.

I wouldn't call this Snyder Method 2 - it sounds like a Petrus F2L with intuitive LS+EP and then intuitive L4C, whereas his method is more like FreeFOP F2L with partial edge control, and then his own LLE+1C algs and intuitive L3C. So, vaguely similar, but just as similar as it is to Petrus or CFEC. Giving Snyder credit for this seems a bit silly :p

That said, very nice times! I tried some solves but I really don't think I can get a ~16 average without a lot of practice.

I completely agree. I'm moving towards a Speed-Heise approach to the last slot (72 algorithms to solve last F2L pair, LL EP, and 1 LL corner).

That will be much more like Snyder V2. I will just be doing the first part of Fish And Chips during the last F2L insert.

From your blog:

Example solve:
L’ U2 R2 D2 F’ U2 F’ D L U R2 D2 R2 U B2 U2 F2 U’ B2 R2 // scramble

U’ F’ L’ F’ D’ R’ D’ L’ D’ // eoline and DR edge (9)
U2 L’ U L2 U’ L2 U2 R2 U L // left (10)
R’ U’ R’ U’ R2 // right 2x2x1 (5)
U R U R’ U // DFR pointing down (5)
R U’ R’ U R U2 R’ // Speed-Heise case BL/FR (7)
U R’ F R’ B2 R F’ R’ B2 R2 // L3C (10)

=46 htm SPEED-HEISE

Solution is good the descriptions of the moves are right but it doesn't work with that scramble. Did it a few times with the same results.

wow i'm bad

setup to speed-heise should have been:

U R U' R' U

Thanks. I'll fix everything.

But I didn't use Speed-Heise for any of the solves in these videos. I just used Petrus F2L and intuitive LPELL to solve everything up to the L4C.
Then I did a reduced "intuitive" form of Fish and Chips. (Fish and Chips usually solves EO, EP, and 1 Corner, but I already solved EO and EP during F2L. The only thing left was a single commutator to solve 1 corner). Then I did L3C, which are mostly just COLL algs that have intuitive breakdowns.

I look forward to that video!

Yeah, Snyder seems like a method that you would enjoy. It seems more "pure" than Freefop, if that makes any sense.
