Hey Guys, I just joined a couple of months ago and would like to get more involved. I currently average 13-14 seconds with CFOP. In this Thread you can discuss how you personally practice and how you got to where you are now, also write your goals. Thanks :)

Honestly just a large number of solves for me personally I'm seeing constant improvement so I just keep solving it lol.... obviously you shouldn't do mindless solves actually think about your solves and what you're doing with each turn. But you already know that cause you're faster than me haha

I just do 50-100 solves on weekdays and about 200-300 solves on weekends. I never to untimed solves. Sub 12 after 7 months and 12 days. Goals: sub 11 by march break, sub 10 by 1 year mark (july 1st), sub 8 by 2016, then go ham and rek some stuff.

ELLs probably come up sometimes, too. (Although I don't have much knowledge of how roux works)

The probability of getting an ELL is 1/240, and an EPLL after EO is 1/60, assuming you don't influence the next step during either CMLL or EO (but I know that many Roux users do influence their next step for most of the solve).

You should probably learn H Z and U perms - they do come up sometimes.

I have always known H since its really intuitive, i know Z, and UA (I think? R2 U R U R' U' R' U' R' U R'). It doesnt come up that often for me. Usually in EO I set up LR edges either on D or solved.

You can do U perms with MU: M2 U M U2 M' U M2. Swapping the M' and M does the same U perm from the back, or you can replace the Us with U's to do the other U perm. Or you can do both, to do the other U perm with the bar on the front.

I would practice averages in sessions of 12. Then, have some days of where you don't time yourself and just go slow, pay attention to look ahead, and track certain pieces. I average 13-15 seconds and I am hoping for sub-12 within the next 4 months.

So many people using Roux.... is Roux catching on? I think I will stick to CFOP, though Roux sounds really fun, I SUCK at block building. Maybe it will help for XCross?

Roux is a great method. I am using it and am close to sub 30. Just that the transition from CFOP is tough.
