I don't have acces to any other puzzle than a 3x3, 2x2 and a Rubik's Brand popped 5x5 whose edge piece won't go back in

I would get comfortable solving the 3x3, then look around at methods. The vast majority start off with a simply Beginner's method, and progress from there. If you try to learn an obscure method right out of the gate, you're gonna have trouble.

Also, just because a method is intuitive doesn't mean there isn't something valuable there. I watched so many example solves videos to learn about Roux F2B, which is considered intuitive.

Jesus no. If you are a beginner (sorry, no offence meant), dont get those cubes. The cubes will make your turning atyle too rough, and make it hard to improve. You should get a SS Wind, and use those cubes when your are sub 30.
Jesus no. If you have no idea what you are talking about it's better to shut up...

Also On topic: you really cannot (or it is much harder if you don't have some "special" skills like programming) contribute to the community until you are actually very good at speedsolving. Well now that I think of it you could organize comps or something like that. But in the field of method developement or inventing new stuff I don't think anyone who is not good at speedsolving can actually help.

That's just how it goes. First everyone takes all the info they can get and once they get better some of them will see better ways to do things and contribute back to the cubing community. That's how cubing evolves :)

(Altough maybe I should stop telling/teaching Ollicubes so much about my bld stuff because he is getting too close to my times already :D jk jk of course competition is always a good thing...)

@tseitsei - Thanks a lot for the help.

@Berd - What's Tapatalk?

Side question - Do I need lube? If I do, for how many months should I break in my cube before. Currently, I don't have any lubricant (Except Vaseline lol)

Nope, I don't think anyone needs lube except on big cubes. Especially not yet. You could if you wanted to, but the difference would be like adding a pinch of salt to some pasta, that is, you wouldn't really notice it unless you were experienced, and even then you might not think it was important, especially if the sauce (your solves) wasn't even good yet.

Well you mentioned you have a 5x5. Just work out some way to avoid parity and upload a video about it

1. Do a quick wing memo during inspection :D well actually you wouldn't need a memo but just need to go through all the cycles to know if you have even or odd number of wing targets.
2. Count how many quarter turns of inner slices you do while you solve.
3. Make sure do even/odd number of those quarter moves. Even if you had even amount of wing targets and odd if you had odd amount of wing targets.
4. Profit :D

That might be a little hard to do in a speedsolve though :D
