So, in response to Milán Baticz beating the 24 Hour record that I've held for a while, I will try to beat the record in January. I will go for a minimum of 4800, but will try to go for 5000. Wish me luck :P.

Oh and if you do have a live match, I suggest you either don't report intermediate results or stop reporting them at let's say 4000 cubes, unless it's a close race at that point. Again the reason is to prevent loafing and keeping you giving your best until the very end.

I suggest to arrange a live match. So that neither of you stops or slows down early just because you're fed up.

that's quite hard, since they're some hours apart from each other...but maybe it can be arranged...

That isn't really an issue if you are going to be up 24 hours anyway

Not that it is a real issue, but people tend to start at the hour when they are "best".

Shouldn't they start half an hour earlier to do warm-up solves

Hmm. Warm up for a marathon. Sounds funny.:)

Why would they start with warm-up solves? It would make sense to start when they are best...

really derrick?

I actually suggest to get up early, while you are sleepy and just solve. Count the solves from your warm up. The times maybe bad, but by the end of the day, it's going to be worse considering you hand would probably hurt a lot be tired.

As my advice, I'm going to relate this marathon to a cross-country meet. If you sprint a lot at the beginning, you are going to get tired very quickly. If you slow down a little bit, you can sustain it longer. Basically what I am trying to say is don't go too fast right at the beginning, but slow down so you can endure the whole thing. It will also help your look ahead a little bit :D

Does anyone know what Yu Nakajima would get if he did this marathon?

I've never seen so many quotes inside quotes inside quotes in my life :p

yeah I remember when I first joined there was some thread where there were like 30 quotes inside quotes, I think it may have been the entire purpose of the thread.

I think I said something about F perm and then people responded and got really long so someone started a thread to see if the quotes break.

To Andrew: Are you going to eat before, in between, or after?

EDIT: http://www.speedsolving.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3024&highlight=break+the+quote&page=4

I will probably not have a REAL live match that will go on for the full 24 hours. I do have a couple cubers who could possibly keep me going like my last attempt. Only trouble with last time was we didn't set a goal beyond beating the record, so we were all happy with barely beating the record.

Andrew, are you planning on doing any sort of training for this?

I will be doing a lot of hand grips, wrist exercises, exercising (gym), and averages of 100.
