Hi! I am deadmanlsh. I've been lurking here for a very long time now (I even made an account), but this is the first time I am posting here.
I've known cubing for a much longer time, but I only started speedsolving last year. The events I practice are 3x3, BLD events and occasionally 2x2 and OH. Currently I am studying in Singapore, but I am a Korean.
For 3x3, I've been on a slump for more than half a year; I'm stuck at sub-16. I recently started trying to be colour neutral, but the difference between CN and non-CN solves is still very evident. I'd like to break the sub-15 barrier, but I guess I am not practicing enough......
For BLD, I am still in the process of familiarising myself with 3-style. The execution is very slow, being over 1:00 most of the time. My memo is even worse, taking about one minute as well. I DNFed all my BLD-related solves during Singapore Open 2014, so I guess I need to learn to be able to concentrate and not get distracted outdoors. I have also had 4BLD and 5BLD success, but I've only tried them a few times and most of the attempts were failures. I actually made a full letter pair list of images from AA-ZZ, but I just made it, so I am nowhere near being able to recall the images instantly.
Side-events I occasionally do are 2x2 and OH. I usually do OH on the bus, since my other hand will usually be grabbing something for support. I actually know EG-1 and CLL for 2x2, since I learnt them recently, but I am still slow as heck. Guess I will have to drill the algorithms if I want to take it seriously.
I actually have an NR for Fewest Moves Mo3, thanks to the fact that I'm pretty much the only Korean who managed to an average. It was the first time I actually did a FMC solve, but I got fourth, so it wasn't so bad I guess? I got 40.67. At that time, I was 32nd in the world as Mo3 for the event was very new. Now my name is nowhere to be seen on top 100.
Also, I would like to take this opportunity to call for everyone living in Singapore, regardless of nationality. A new Whatsapp group is being created, so we are seeking members (there is a 50-member limit, though, as the app restricts the number of people). PM me or guysensei1 to join!
Watching anime is another of my hobbies. In fact, I think I spend more time watching anime than cubing (I do both simultaneously sometimes). I am also following a lot of them this season.
I also occasionally play some Touhou. I've yet to clear any game other than EoSD and by clear I mean a normal 1cc. I've actually tried MoF more than once other than EoSD, but Kanako's Mountain of Faith ends my attempt every time. I've tried the other games once or twice, but my attempts usually end during Stage 6 for other games, except for UFO since it's too difficult (damn you, curvy lasers!).
I think I'll be more active on the forums from now on. But who knows? I may go back into being a lurker. Any tips/ideas for improving my times will also be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading through this long post!
That is all.
