i have gotten down all PLL's (dont mind the signature;)). but i still use 2 look oll, could anybody tell me which OLL should i continue? i herd many cubers learning 20 more oll and stopping there. i wonder what oll does ppl have memorized?.

thanks in advanced

maby try learning the easy OLL's first, like the T shapes, then move onto the
'C' shapes or 'I' shapes.
After 2 look OLL, I learnt all the OLL cases which have 2 adjacent edges oriented, then all the cases where 2 edges making an L shape, then the cases where there are 0 edges oriented.

Your signature brings smile to my face :D

Easy ones like T (RUR'U'R'FRF') and ones that are the slowest for 2LOLL (no edges correct)

to those who dont use / know edge control, the dot cases are very long with 2LOLL

I would suggest either memorizing them by shapes (the Speedsolving Wiki has them categorized that way) so that when you see a certain shape you know you know the OLL instead of needing to check whether you know that case or not.

Or you could start with OLLs that contain familiar triggers in them (R U R' U', R' F R F'). Watch badmephisto's video on this :)

I forgot how I memorized all my OLLs but it wasn't one of the above :p But I recommend the first option :D

1. all the dots (all edges flipped). These save a great number of moves.
2. the ones that have a very small move count (6 to 9). Same reason.
3. the ones with very easy recognition: unique top pattern, 3x1 block on a side, etc. I like the way Lucas Garron sort them.

Going from 2LOLL to 1LOLL I find myself trading the following positive aspects:
- 2 very easy recognitions
- a small number of algorithms (easy decision making)

for:
- 1 less look (although this one is questionable as I already know what to do as I exit F2L when doing a 2LOLL)
- 1 less AUF
- about 4-5 less turns in average (or about 1 second)

I have memorized about 22 cases so far. I find I'm hitting the curve of diminishing return really fast...

What exactly do you mean by "free"?

By the time you think about learning all the OLLs you usually know all of those algorithms already (assuming you know 2 look OLL and full PLL) or similar variations like F (RUR'U') F'. Just repeating RUR'U' will be enough to solve other cases. Then you just need to work on recognition (which is easily achieved with an OLL trainer).

Obviously they're not really "free" and some people have problems with recognition so they would still be hard but if your recognition is good they're almost free. And at least it motivates you since if you add those algorithms to the ones you already knew from 2 look OLL you'll end up knowing almost half of the whole OLL so might aswell memorize everything :D
