Fridich to ZZ.

My OH times are ~2 minutes. I only toyed with it for about a week and didn't have the dexterity for it. I need to increase my finger's endurance and get better at moving the cube OH. Are there better finger tricks for OHZZ that are different than OH Fridrich or is it all just being able to move the cube? I understand that learning ZZ will be a challenge and I figured that getting used to EO line will take longer than cross on bottom did. Same with blockbuilding over intuitive F2L. It won't be easy but I like a challenge and don't mind the leg (finger?) work.

Anybody know of a good ZZ tutorial? I found one on youtube but the guy was sorta rambling and mumbling. He didn't make the concept of EO line and finding good over bad edges very clear.

Nobody has mentioned about the Winter variation for ZZ. Only requires less then 30 alg which most are 2 gen and it forces OLL skip.

I use the Winter variation for when I feel like solving with the EOLine.
(Mostly when I am bored and don't feel like speedcubing because I have no interest in mastering it yet..)

And I must say that it doesn't really feel like an OLL-skip to me.
It still feels like doing OLL, but in a different way..

Can't really explain how I feel =x

What stopped me from switching to ZZ was that I don't know how to block build, so I was just doing F2L without F/B after the EO then COLL->PLLedges

Is there any good block building tutorial?

I take around 15 seconds to do EOLine, and I have trouble finishing in the 15 seconds inspection, tips? I have to place fingers on bad edges to keep track of them.
I average 40 using ZZ (Using ZZ-Vh) Anything more then 4 edges I fail. For 6 edges I do 4 on the F face and do F or whatever, then I set up sledgehammer for the last 2. With 8, it's nearly impossible to track and I definitely go over 15 seconds inspection

OH obviously

Edit-For 8 edges, after I do the first 4 orientation, I have to basically manually find the other 4

I hold YG

ZZ is pretty good for OH, with EO then cross, no blockbuilding and OCLL and PLL i can avg ~24 OH (thats only 3 second away from my fridrich pb avg12)

You'll be capped speedwise due to the higher move count of doing it fridrich style

I usually like to place the four good edges in the S slice, then do a quarter turn of F and B.

Ah, nice, very smart, and I only have to keep track of 4 edges :). 6 is a major problem though, because it happens a lot.

Should I learn ZZ with 2H until I get the basics and then start OH? While I practice and learn the method and I drill OH finger tricks and algs. Is the LL of ZZ the same as Fridrich? If not is there an intermediate LL method equivalent to 2-look OLL/PLL?

At OP, sorry for hijacking your thread.

You can do OLL/PLL for LL of ZZ. Do whatever you wish for LL. Standard is OLL/PLL I guess.
