[WR] Feliks Zemdegs 3x3 OH single 6.88

He had an "easy" double x-cross, but I was in the same group and found a really nice X-cross+free pair on another colour, so it's debatable that the scramble was outright advantageous.

Video/scramble will be sent to the board to decide but based on precedent it will hopefully be approved

Reasonably sure I didn't have an X-cross, it was like a 3 move cross or something.

I have a feeling it will be approved.

The WCA already had an incident like this earlier (https://www.worldcubeassociation.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1216), and as long as it wasn't Faz's fault (which I'm sure it wasn't), the scrambler didn't do it on purpose, and the scramble was within regulations (It had to be), then there's really not a reason to take that away from him.

The regulation for 3x3 scrambling:
4b3) Specification for the scramble program: An official scramble sequence must produce a random state from those that require at least 2 moves to solve.

The misscramble still stays within bounds of the regulations, so it is technically a legal scramble state.

I don't think the scramblers did it on purpose, either. From what Faz said, they are apparently strong scramblers, it was just unlucky they accidentally messed up and he got WR.

Also, Faz shouldn't be dinged for other people messing up. If someone wasn't paying attention to scrambling and messed up, we'd blame the person scrambling, instead of the person who solved.

I think I may have scrambled the cube actually, I'm not entirely sure. I was pretty sure I got it right, it looked good, but it had been a looong weekend. Sorry.

It was either me or Ethan.

This is absolutely insane. For the love of god, get this approved.

PS: someone edit the 8.27 video being smashed to pieces by this video (when it comes out) and play wrecking ball over the top

I was there and I saw it. I was a judge on the table to his right. Lel. i didnt see him solve but I heard the clapping.

I thought it was a DNF at first cause it was like. 6.88... nooooooooooooooooooo... cant be... i was thinking he did a 2 handed solve *cough. but no.
