Purpose(s):

EOLL, short for Edge Orientation of the Last Layer, is a substep in which one orients the edges of the last layer. EOLL can be of three types: the most basic is when corners are ignored completely, the second level preserves corner orientation (the usal OLLs) and the highest level also preserves corner permutation.

Two adjacent edges flipped (L shape with up and left edges)

OLL F U R U' R' F'
OLL y2 f R U R' U' f'

Two opposite edges flipped (horizontal bar shape)

OLL F R U R' U' F'

Four edges flipped (dot OLL)

OLL (F R U R' U' F') (f R U R' U' f')
OLL (F U R U' R' F') U (F R U R' U' F')
