Cube

From Speedsolving.com Wiki

A cube is a regular geometrical object with 8 corners, 12 edges, and 6 faces. It is one of the five Platonic solids. In speedcubing, the term is used to refer to puzzles in the shape of a cube; more specifically the standard Rubik's cube is often just called 'the cube'. If a cuber wants to talk about some other specific cubic puzzle, they will almost always specify it, i.e. by saying 'the 4x4 cube'.

The term is also commonly used to refer to any twisty puzzle; even those in the shape of a dodecahedron or tetrahedron such as the Megaminx and Pyraminx are referred to as cubes for short.
