Thread 'Where is fairness?'

Apr 6, 2026

Not sure whether to put this here or in the Puzzle Video Gallery

The video shows many of Yiheng's recent 2x2 and 3x3 attempts, however there were multiple counts of illegal timer starts (sliding) and early stops. Most of his solves should be DNFed if the proper penalties are given

This is affecting Xuanyi to the point where he's no longer participating in H2H competitions until WCA committees do something about it.
More info is in the video description

saw this today. We know yiheng did this before a while back but I’m honestly disgusted by this. He’s had 2 years to grow up, and he’s 12 now, so whilst he’s definitely not fully mature he should know so much better. He knows exactly what he’s doing, and in world class 2 and 3 this can decide whether you win or miss podium positions.

I don’t know much about the wca protocol but seeing as this has happened before I really thing anything less than a temp ban or a fine is deeply unsatisfactory and will go no way to discourage him, it will probably have the opposite effect actually.

One thing I’ll add is that the display update is lagged so that might exaggerate things

Some people naturally do have questionable timer stops, that said if you know you have one you should work on it.
